1. Beefing up your Profile Summary.

2. Continually adding new Connections.

3. Asking for and giving Recommendations.

So, where has this got you? Within one month of starting my blog, I was rated first in World Top Blogs, included in El Universal’s list of the Most Infuential Blogs in the World, and if you google, ‘No. 1 Blog in the World,’ you will find I am second only to Technorati.

How did I achieve this in 5 weeks? Not by following shot-in-the-dark advice, but simply by posting quality writng and photos. It’s the only way.

    Ian,

The target audience for my newsletter article is marketing professionals. Many in my target audience do not have a blog but they do use LinkedIn and want to know how to use it more effectively.

How do I know this? I speak quite a bit and get the same questions whereever I go.
My article answers people’s real questions — and is definitely not a shot in the dark.

Answering questions on LinkedIn is an excellent way to drive targeted traffic and showcase your expertise (just basic good PR – which is precisely what good content is Ian). It’s always a good idea to build a wider presence than that on your own site, and LinkedIn is one of the more effective social media sources for doing just that.
